The most important bar in LGBTQ+ history — where the modern civil rights movement began on June 28, 1969. A National Historic Landmark and National Monument, the Stonewall Inn is still a fully operational gay bar in Greenwich Village. Every pint poured here honors the brave patrons who fought back that night. It is required for any LGBTQ+ traveler to visit.
